A discussion was organized in Patna by the Rashtriya Sewa Dal, Bihar, under the title "Freedom Movement and Us."

Patna, February 28: A discussion was organized at the Gandhi Museum in Patna titled "Freedom Movement and Us" by Rashtriya Sewa Dal. As per the tradition of the Rashtriya Sewa Dal, the program started with flag hoisting and the national anthem. The program was chaired by the Rashtriya Sewa Dal Director, Mr. Uday. Starting the discussion, Uday said that the freedom movement is a milestone in Indian history. This is the very reason why some organizations are questioning the significance of the freedom movement. Democracy, socialism, religious tolerance, scientific perspective, and nationalism are values that emerged from the freedom movement and are enshrined in our Constitution. However, fundamentalists are trying to dismiss these values and the leaders of the freedom movement in order to undermine them. It is clear that if we are supporters of the freedom movement and its values, then it is not only our responsibility to protect it but also to preserve it. Both as individuals and as organizations.

The national convener of the Rashtriya Seva Dal, Shahid Kamal, said that in the freedom movement, especially in the Quit India Movement of 1942, the socialist activists showed the most activity. Therefore, our responsibility has increased even more today. The terrifying face of capitalism has emerged. The chasm of inequality has widened significantly. Only 10% of the population possess 57% of the country's wealth. The National Service Scheme was established to instill these values in children and adolescents. Nationalism rose in India during the freedom struggle. Nationalism is the pinnacle of inclusivity, where people of all classes participated in the freedom movement, and secularism became the cornerstone of nationalism.

The national president of the Rashtriya Sewa Dal, Nitin Vaidya, said during a program that the values of independence, equality, and fraternity are the values of the freedom movement. Our constitution is the result of our independence movement. The National Service Scheme has played a significant role in building India as a nation. The National Service Scheme is a movement for secularism, caste liberation, and gender equality. He said, taking a firm stance against the current government at the center, that we need to search for the gentle Ram of Gandhi and Lohia, instead of the threatening Ram.

The topic of discussion in the program was "The values of the freedom movement and us". Hundreds of representatives from districts such as Bhagalpur, West Champaran, Samastipur, Gaya, Patna, Purnia, Banka, Munger, Lakhisarai, Muzaffarpur, Katihar, and others participated in the conference. The program was addressed by Raghupati, Rupesh, Karu Bhai, Jasmine Bano, Indra Raman Upadhyay, Dr. Anil Kumar Rai, E. Sarthak Bharat, Ravindra Kumar Singh, and others. The songs of Ladli, Uzma, and Dip Priya filled the atmosphere with new energy. Women representatives included Uzma, Dip Priya, Ladli Raj, Rehana Khatoon, Divya Kumari, Kalyani Kumari, Naz Parveen, Radha, Lalita Kumari, Neha Kumari, Rita Kumari, Vibha Kumari, and Anju Kumari. The program was chaired by Uday, the state convener of the National Service Scheme, and the management was handled by Abhay Kumar Akela. The vote of thanks was given by Ravindra Kumar Singh, the state secretary of the Rashtriya Sewa Dal.

Our Patron Yasmin Bano said,"It is truly an honor to stand before you today on this auspicious occasion, where we gather to reflect upon the values of the freedom movement and its significance in our lives. I would like to express my gratitude to the National Service Scheme for organizing this thought-provoking discussion and providing us with this platform to share our perspectives.

As we delve into the theme "Freedom Movement and Us," let us remind ourselves of the sacrifices made by our forefathers who fought fearlessly for the independence of our nation. Their relentless struggle against oppression and their unwavering belief in justice and equality laid the foundation for the vibrant democracy we enjoy today.

The freedom movement was not just a fight for political independence; it encompassed the ideals of freedom, equality, and brotherhood. It was a movement that united people from all walks of life, transcending barriers of caste, creed, and gender. It taught us the importance of standing together, shoulder to shoulder, for a common cause.

Today, as we reflect upon the values of the freedom movement, we must ask ourselves, "What is our role in upholding these values?" Each one of us has a responsibility to carry forward the torch of freedom and work towards building an inclusive and progressive society.

We must strive for a nation where every individual, irrespective of their background, enjoys equal rights and opportunities. It is our duty to fight against discrimination, to eradicate social evils, and to ensure that every voice is heard and respected. Let us remember that the true essence of freedom lies in the empowerment of every citizen.

I urge each one of you to become active participants in the progress and development of our great nation. Let us contribute to nation-building by promoting education, empowering women, and fostering a spirit of unity and harmony. Together, we can overcome any challenge that comes our way and create a society that our freedom fighters dreamt of.

In conclusion, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the National Service Scheme for organizing this enlightening event. May we carry the spirit of the freedom movement within us and work towards a brighter and more prosperous India.
